
Whole-grain grissini with sesame seeds

Delicious and crunchy whole-grain grissini sticks, which both look great and have a lovely sesame flavor. Use them for lunchboxes, as an appetizer for your dinner party, or for any other celebration. This recipe meets the whole grain label requirements.

Ingredients
- 1,5 dl lukewarm water
- 15 g yeast
- 1 tbsp. olive oil
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tbsp. sesame seeds
- 170 g whole wheat flour (whole grain)
- 80 g wheat flour
- 1/2 egg (for brushing)
Instructions
- Mix the water and yeast and stir until dissolved. Then add half a teaspoon of salt and the oil. Save the remaining salt to sprinkle over the grissini sticks later.
- Add the whole wheat flour and all-purpose flour, and knead the dough thoroughly.
- Let the dough rise for 40 minutes, covered with a kitchen towel.
- Preheat the oven to 190°C (fan/convection).
- Lightly flour the work surface and divide the dough into smaller portions.
- Roll the grissini sticks out to about 0.8 cm in thickness. Cut them to your preferred length, for example, 20–25 cm.
- Place the grissini sticks on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush with beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds and the remaining salt.
- Bake them in the oven for about 15–20 minutes until they are crispy and golden.
